The Scholarship Department of the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board is dedicated to recognizing and rewarding academic excellence among students from Delta State. Our scholarship programs aim to support exceptional students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance, providing them with the financial resources needed to pursue higher education and achieve their full potential.

Mission:

To provide financial support to outstanding students, thereby promoting academic excellence and contributing to the development of a highly skilled workforce in Delta State.

Key Functions:

1. Merit-Based Scholarships: Administering scholarship programs to support students who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance.
2. Eligibility Screening: Ensuring that only eligible and deserving students receive scholarships through a transparent and rigorous selection process.
3. Disbursement of Funds: Efficiently managing and disbursing scholarship funds directly to students' bank accounts to cover tuition fees and other educational expenses.
4. Monitoring and Evaluation: Tracking the academic progress of scholarship recipients to ensure continued eligibility and optimal use of resources.
5. Awareness and Outreach: Raising awareness about available scholarship opportunities and guiding students through the application process.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Delta State Origin: Applicants must be of Delta State origin.
2. National Identification Number (NIN): Must possess a valid NIN.
3. Enrollment in Tertiary Institutions: Must be registered full-time students in government-approved public tertiary institutions. 
4. Academic Performance: Must have a CGPA of 4.20 and above in the previous academic year’s examination.
5. Bank Account: Must have an account with a CBN-approved commercial bank.

How to Apply:

1. Online Application: Log on to http://www.dsbsb.dl.gov.ng and click on the “APPLY NOW” button to submit your scholarship form.
2. Processing Fee: Pay the non-refundable online processing fee using a debit card.
3. Acknowledgment Card: Download and print the online acknowledgment card for your personal record.

Important Dates:

1. Application Period: June 1st - June 30th, 2024.
2. Verification: Physical verification will be conducted at the close of the registration period in your respective schools.
