The Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board has officially announced the commencement of registration for the 2025/2026 Students Special Assistance Scheme (SSAS) – Bursary Award Programme for eligible students of Delta State origin studying in approved tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
The registration exercise, which forms part of the Delta State Government’s continued commitment to educational support and youth empowerment, is designed to provide financial assistance to qualified students in universities, polytechnics, monotechnics, and colleges of education.
According to the Board, online registration for the bursary programme will commence on Monday, 11th May 2026 and close on Wednesday, 10th June 2026.
Eligible applicants are advised to visit the official portal at:
www.dsbsb.dl.gov.ng
Applicants are expected to:
• Complete the online registration process
• Upload required documents
• Provide accurate academic and personal information
• Pay a non-refundable processing fee of ₦800 only
• Print their registration acknowledgement slip after submission
To qualify for the bursary programme, applicants must:
• Be of Delta State origin
• Possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN)
• Be registered full-time students in approved tertiary institutions
• Have a minimum CGPA of 2.20
• Meet the approved academic level requirements
The Board also noted that:
• Universities: Applicants must be in 200 Level and above
• Polytechnics/Monotechnics: Applicants must be in ND II or HND II
• Colleges of Education: Applicants must be in NCE II or III
The Board emphasized that postgraduate students, including PGD, Masters, and PhD students, are not eligible for the programme.
Students are encouraged to complete their applications within the stipulated timeline and regularly monitor the Board’s official communication channels for updates regarding verification exercises and other important announcements.

The Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board has announced that a statewide physical verification exercise will be conducted following the closure of the 2025/2026 Students Special Assistance Scheme (SSAS), Bursary Award Programme registration.
The verification exercise is part of the Board’s commitment to ensuring transparency, accountability, and credibility in the administration of bursary awards to eligible students of Delta State origin.
According to the Board, all applicants who successfully complete their online registration will be required to participate in the physical verification exercise at designated verification centres across the State.
Applicants are advised to:
• Print and keep their online registration acknowledgement slips
• Present original copies of required documents during verification
• Ensure consistency of personal and academic information submitted online
• Arrive at verification centres on scheduled dates and time
• Follow all instructions issued by verification officials
Documents expected during the exercise may include:
• School Identification Card
• Admission Letter
• Local Government Identification Letter
• National Identification Number (NIN) Slip
• Current Year Course Registration Evidence
The Board further warned applicants against falsification of documents, multiple registrations, or submission of misleading information, noting that offenders may be disqualified from the programme.
The Executive Secretary reiterated that the verification exercise is aimed at ensuring that only qualified and genuine students benefit from the State Government’s educational support initiatives.

According to the Board, the NIN remains a mandatory requirement for students seeking to benefit from government educational support initiatives, including bursary awards, scholarship schemes, and Students Special Assistance Programmes (SSAS).
Students are therefore encouraged to:
• Register for their National Identification Number (NIN) at approved enrolment centres
• Ensure that their NIN details correspond correctly with their academic and personal records
• Use active phone numbers and valid email addresses during registration
• Safeguard their NIN slip and registration details for future verification exercises
